Launched in December 2025, the Kylaq has been the best-seller for Skoda in India registering a total retail sales of 46,872 units in 2025.
Skoda has marked 50,000 production units for the Kylaq in just over a year since the sub-compact SUV was launched. Kylaq has been a key contributor for Skoda Auto Volkswagen India’s 36% YoY growth in 2025. The Group has achieved this by enhancing the scale of its India operations and increasing localisation levels.
Speaking on this occasion, Piyush Arora, MD & CEO, Skoda Auto Volkswagen India said, “The 50,000‑unit milestone for the Kylaq reflects the deep trust and affection our customers have shown for this product. Built on the proven MQB‑A0‑IN platform, the Kylaq’s success is a powerful validation that vehicles designed in India, both for India and the world, continue to earn admiration and confidence from customers domestically and globally.”

To support the Kylaq, Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited (SAVWIPL) has increased production capacity at its Chakan facility by 30 percent and enhanced collaboration with domestic suppliers to achieve greater localisation. This move aligns with Škoda Auto Volkswagen India’s broader strategy to support the Make in India initiative, highlighting the Group’s focus on strengthening local engineering capabilities and sourcing efficiency.

In another related development, Skoda Kylaq has received a price hike of up to ₹33,000, affecting all variants except the base Classic. The Signature MT, Signature AT, Signature+ MT and Signature+ AT variants are now priced ₹33,000 higher than before, while the Prestige MT and Prestige AT versions have seen a price increase of ₹24,000 each. This development comes shortly after Skoda introduced two new variants of the Kylaq: Classic+ and Prestige+, priced at ₹8.25 lakh and ₹11.99 lakh (both ex-showroom). With this update, the Skoda Kylaq is now available in six trims and eleven price points.
Powering the Skoda Kushaq is a 1.0-litre TSI turbocharged petrol engine that pushes out 114 bhp and 178 Nm of peak torque. This motor is paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
