Setting the benchmark for others to follow, Suzuki India has set new 24 hours endurance run national records for 150 cc and 250 cc bikes. The steeds used for the run were the Gixxer SF 150 and SF 250, which clocked in 2802.3 km and 3259 km respectively in 24 hours. The NATRAX proving grounds played host for the run with the Gixxer 250 falling short of the overall national record by 400 km, which was set by TVS with its Apache RR 310.

Endurance runs of this stature aren’t new per se with the first one set by the Hero Honda Karizma in 2003, setting the bar at 2525 km. Most recently, the RR 310 usurped that with 3657.92 km now standing as the new overall benchmark. However, despite the Gixxer SF 250 being quite a lot less powerful than the RR 310, it fared rather well. And judging by the amount of miles that the SF 150 was able to clock from its 13.4 bhp/13.8 Nm producing 155 cc single-cylinder air-cooled mill, the feat becomes even more impressive.

“The GIXXER Endurance Challenge reflects Suzuki’s commitment to delivering motorcycles that combine reliability, endurance, and superior performance. Achieving these national records highlights the robustness of our GIXXER series and underscores our engineering excellence,” said Suzuki’s Executive Vice President, Devashish Handa.
