Tata Punch facelift will be offered in six broad variants namely Smart, Pure, Pure Plus, Adventure, Accomplished, and Accomplished Plus S.

Tata Motors is all geared up to launch the Punch facelift tomorrow. This the first major update that the Punch will receive ever since it was introduced in the market in 2021. The homegrown carmaker has already shared quite a few details about the upcoming iteration of the subcompact SUV. Here’s a quick rundown of what to expect from the new Punch.

Tata Punch Facelift: Expected Design

Tata has revealed the design of the Punch facelift in its entirety. The updated model features a refreshed design with sharper LED DRLs and a redesigned gloss-black grille. The front bumper has been reworked, incorporating new black cladding and a brushed silver surround for the air dam. The earlier chunky headlamps have been replaced by vertically stacked LED units, lending the SUV a more contemporary appearance.

A front-mounted camera integrated into the lower air intake confirms the availability of a 360-degree surround-view system on the sub-four-metre SUV. The Punch facelift also debuts new alloy wheel designs, enhancing its upmarket appeal. Black cladding around the wheel arches and along the lower sections of the doors has been retained, while the rear now features connected LED taillights with a revised internal layout.

Tata has also introduced a sleeker logo on the updated Punch, along with a fresh set of exterior colour options including Cyantafic Blue, Caramel Yellow, Bengal Rouge Red, Daytona Grey, Coorg Clouds Silver, and Pristine White.

Tata Punch Facelift: Expected Interiors & Features

As revealed in the teasers, the cabin of the Tata Punch facelift will get revised elements borrowing cues from the bigger Nexon and Altroz models. Tata has also incorporated its two-spoke steering wheel with the illuminated logo, and the touch-sensitive climate control panel. The interior now features a new dual-tone upholstery in blue and grey.

The big change comes in the form of a new 7.0-inch digital instrument console, while the 10.25-inch (previous model has the same size) touchscreen infotainment system is new as well. Other notable creature comforts on offer will include a voice-assisted electric sunroof, a touch-based climate control panel., a wireless phone charger, an auto-dimming IRVM, an 8-speaker sound system, a 360-degree camera, height-adjustable driver seat, and Tata’s iRA connected car technology.

Tata Punch Facelift: Expected Powertrain

In facelifted form, the Tata Punch will be offered with two petrol powertrain options: a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine and a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol unit. The naturally aspirated motor delivers 85 bhp and 115 Nm of peak torque, and will be available with a 5-speed manual gearbox or an AMT. This engine will also be offered with a factory-fitted CNG kit, albeit in a detuned state, producing 72 bhp and 103 Nm of torque.

Joining the line-up for the first time is the 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine, sourced from the Altroz Racer and Nexon. This unit is expected to generate 118 bhp and 170 Nm of torque. A 6-speed manual transmission has been confirmed with the turbocharged engine, while details regarding an automatic gearbox are yet to be announced.

Tata Punch Facelift: Expected Price

The current Tata Punch is priced between ₹5.50 lakh and ₹9.30 lakh, (both ex-showroom). We expect the upcoming facelift to carry a premium of ₹20,000-50,000 over the current model depending on the variant. Tata would like to keep prices of the facelifted Punch competitive against rivals like Hyundai Exter, Citroen C3, and Maruti Suzuki Ignis.
