Tata Tiago, Tigor CNG AMT Launched; Prices Start At ₹7.90 lakh

Tata Motors has launched the Tiago and Tigor iCNG with an automatic gearbox. Prices for the Tiago CNG AT start at ₹7.90 lakh, while the Tigor CNG AT starts at ₹8.85 lakh (both ex-showroom, New Delhi). Tata Motors opened bookings for these models last month, for a token amount of ₹21,000. 

Compared to its manual counterparts, the Tiago CNG automatic is ₹55,000 dearer. The Tigor CNG automatic is ₹60,000 more expensive than its manual counterpart. 

The Tiago CNG automatic is available in three trims – XTA, XZA+ and XZA NRG. On the other hand, the Tigor CNG automatic is available in the top-spec XZA and XZA+ trims. The Tiago and Tigor are the first-ever CNG models to get an automatic gearbox. 

Tata Motors has also introduced new colour options on the two models. The Tiago now gets a Tornado Blue colour option, while the NRG variants get a Grassland Beige colour option. Furthermore, the Tigor gets a Meteor Bronze colour option. 

Both CNG vehicles get a 1.2-litre petrol engine producing 84 bhp and 113 Nm in petrol mode and 72 bhp and 95 Nm in CNG mode. Along with the 5-speed AMT, these are also available with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Both also get Tata Motors’ new twin-cylinder technology that helps improve boot space. Tata Motors claims the two models have a fuel efficiency of 28.06 kg/km.
