TVS Motor Company on Tuesday unveiled the European-specification Orbiter electric scooter at EICMA 2026 in Milan, as it aims to expand electric mobility offerings in the European market. Designed for everyday urban commuting, the Orbiter will be available with two battery pack options of 1.8 kWh and 3.1 kWh. The respective expected ranges under the World Motorcycle Test Cycle (WMTC) are 70 km and 105 km.

TVS Motor, which makes two- and three-wheelers for 68 million customers across more than 90 countries, made its first appearance at EICMA in 2025. This followed the launch of its Global Centre of Excellence for Design and Engineering in Bologna, Italy.

The Orbiter is one of three electric models showcased by TVS Motor at EICMA, alongside the M1-S and TVS X. The company said the three models reflect its expansion into the sustainable urban mobility segment.

“A year after our first EICMA, we’re back with a line-up shaped around how people move through Europe's cities,” Peyman Kargar, President, TVS Motor Company International Business Unit, said in a statement.

“Of our three electric models premiering here in Milan, the Orbiter is the one made purely for daily life: a scooter for the commute and the errands in between, with a battery chosen to suit the rider's routine. That is what accessible electric mobility should feel like.”

The company said its European product line-up is focused on accessible and sustainable urban mobility, with the Orbiter developed for everyday commuting and short city journeys.

TVS Orbiter Battery, Range And Charging

The Orbiter uses a brushless DC (BLDC) hub motor with a rated output of 1.85 kW and peak power of 2.9 kW. It has a claimed top speed of 45 kmph, while its European Union type approval is expected to be available in 2027.

Both battery options use lithium-ion technology with nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) chemistry. The 1.8 kWh version has an expected WMTC range of 70 km, while the larger 3.1 kWh battery offers a claimed range of 105 km.

The scooter comes with a 550 W charger. Charging the battery from 0% to 80% takes 2 hours and 39 minutes for the 1.8 kWh version and 4 hours and 33 minutes for the 3.1 kWh variant.

The battery is removable on both versions, while an optional charging dock will allow users to charge it separately from the scooter. The vehicle can also be charged directly from a household socket.

Design, Features And Connectivity

The Orbiter gets a minimalist design with straight lines and an aerodynamic profile. Its lighting package includes a Crystal LED headlamp, LED turn indicators and an LED tail lamp.

For the European market, the scooter has been unveiled in Lunar Gray and Stratos Blue, with additional colour options to follow. It features an upright riding position, a wide handlebar and a flat seat positioned 760 mm above the ground. The scooter also gets a 34-litre underseat storage compartment.

In terms of dimensions, the Orbiter measures 1,855 mm in length and 728 mm in width, with a wheelbase of 1,330 mm. It rides on a 14-inch alloy front wheel and a 12-inch rear wheel.

The feature list includes Hill Hold, Cruise Mode and Reverse Assist. A five-inch Bluetooth-enabled LCD instrument cluster and an onboard LTE connection link the scooter to the TVS SmartXonnect application, available on Android and iOS devices.

The connected features include turn-by-turn navigation, call alerts and Distance to Empty information. LTE-enabled functions include geofencing, crash and fall alerts, and live vehicle tracking.

Chassis, Suspension And Braking

The TVS Orbiter is built around a tubular steel frame, with a telescopic front fork and twin rear shock absorbers. The front wheel gets a 90/80 tyre, while the rear uses a 90/90 tyre. Braking duties are handled by a 220 mm front disc and a 130 mm rear drum brake, supported by a combined braking system (CBS).

Developed And Manufactured In India

TVS Motor said the Orbiter has been developed, engineered and manufactured at its research and development and manufacturing facility in India.

The company added that the scooter's development involved millions of kilometres of real-world riding data and 600 safety and structural stress tests, aimed at supporting long-term operational reliability.

European Launch And Availability

TVS Motor has not announced prices or market-specific launch timelines for the Orbiter. The company said pricing, available versions and on-sale dates for individual markets would be disclosed closer to launch.
