The Ultraviolette Shockwave will also be available at ₹1.50 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the next 1,000 customers now.
Ultraviolette created quite the ripple this week with the new Shockwave, the country’s first electric enduro bike. Not just because of how authentically rugged and athletic it looks, its spec sheet reads equally impressive as well. To make matters more attractive, Ultraviolette priced the bike at ₹1.75 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), but the first 1,000 customers could avail it at ₹1.50 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) – a deal that not many wanted to miss out on, so much so that the first 1,000 units were booked in just 24 hours. While deliveries of the electric enduro bike will commence next year, this overwhelming response is for the right reasons.
It is built around a completely new steel frame chassis that is suspended by proper long-travel suspension components. Despite being an all-electric bike, the Shockwave is almost 50 kg lighter than its closest ICE-rival, the XPulse 210, at 120 kg. While battery specs are still under wraps, it can do an IDC-claimed range of 165 km on a single charge. The battery powers a 14.7 bhp mid-mounted electric motor that is good enough to complete the 0-60 kmph dash in just 2.9 seconds.
On the styling front, the single-piece enduro style long seat, long-tower style design, plus elevated mudguard design, and 19-/17-inch spoke wheel configuration – leaves no doubt to the mind the kind of mud plugging one can indulge in with the bike.
While we are dying to ride the bike, tap the link here to learn more about the key highlights of the Shockwave. But if off-road bikes are not your cuppa, head here to learn about Ultraviolette’s most advanced scooter, the Tesseract, which was launched alongside the Shockwave.
