The Tiguan is the first model in India to get the R-Line treatment and comes as a completely built unit (CBU) import.
Volkswagen India has launched the third generation of the Tiguan, in the form of the Tiguan R-Line, at an introductory price of ₹49 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The new Tiguan will not be assembled in India and will be offered as a completely built unit (CBU) import. The third-gen Tiguan will be limited in numbers and available in one fully loaded R-Line trim, with the deliveries to begin on April 23, 2025.
The new Tiguan is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with 201 bhp and 320 Nm on tap, mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The latest generation also comes with Dynamic Chassis Control Pro, Volkswagen’s adaptive suspension, which allows you to adjust the damping of the car to change its characteristics from comfort to sport.
Inside, the new Tiguan comes with a large, 15-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 10.25-inch virtual instrument cluster, two wireless chargers, a head-up display, massaging seats but with manual adjustment, 30-colour ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, and more. It also has 9 airbags, a hill start assist, hill descent control, all four disc brakes, and 21 ADAS features.
The third-gen Tiguan R-Line rivals the likes of the Toyota Fortuner (₹36.33 - 51.94 lakh), Jeep Meridian (₹24.99 - 38.79 lakh), MG Gloster (₹39.57 - 44.03 lakh), Hyundai Tucson (₹29.27 - 36.04 lakh) and the upcoming Skoda Kodiaq.
