Volkswagen India is continuing its celebrations the fourth anniversary of the Virtus in India with a new limited edition. Based on the GT Plus Sport variant of the Virtus, the new Anniversary Edition offers some additional features. It comes in a new exclusive Avocado Pearl body colour with a contrasting black roof. The company had previously announced special offers and benefits on this model. The company says it has averaged one Virtus unit sale every 24 minutes since it launched in 2022.
The Volkswagen Virtus GT Plus Sport 1.5 TSI DSG Anniversary Edition will cost ₹19,19,900 (ex-showroom, India) and is now available at all official Volkswagen dealerships across the country. According to Volkswagen India, the Virtus is India’s top-ranking premium sedan. The company has not specified how many units of this special edition will be sold.
Interestingly, Volkswagen India currently lists the GT Plus Sport 1.5L TSI DSG at the same price. A mid-life facelift with improved features is expected to launch later this year.
In addition to the unique dual-tone paint colour, the Virtus Anniversary Edition comes with black alloy wheels. Buyers will also get genuine Volkswagen accessories including 360-degree cameras, front parking sensors, a dual-tone horn, and puddle lamps, which will be fitted at authorised dealerships.
The GT Plus Sport variant is powered by a 1.5 litre TSI EVO engine, capable of delivering 150 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque. with a 7-speed DSG transmission.
This trim level gets buyers an electric sunroof, darkened automatic LED headlamps with LED DRLs and turn indicators as well as darkened LED tail lamps, and rain-sensing wipers. The cabin interior is finished in black, with ventilated front seats, laser red ambient lighting, footwell and trunk illumination, aluminium pedals, an 8-inch digital cockpit, 10.49-inch infotainment touchscreen, auto-dimming IRVM, and more. There’s an 8-speaker audio system plus wired and wireless Android Auto and CarPlay.
For safety, the Virtus GT Plus Sport and the Anniversary Edition feature six airbags along with Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD), Multi-Collison Brakes (MCB), Hill Start Assist, and rear parking sensors. The Volkswagen Virtus has also been awarded a five-star Global NCAP safety rating.
In a press statement, Nitin Kohli, Brand Director, Volkswagen India, said “Virtus has earned strong customer appreciation for its design, performance and German engineering. The Anniversary Edition celebrates that journey and the passion our customers have shown for the brand.”
