The EX30 is confirmed to come to India in early 2025.
Volvo Car India has now confirmed that the EX30 electric SUV will be launching in India in 2025. This further confirms our exclusive story on the launch of the electric subcompact SUV in India. Furthermore, Volvo has confirmed that the EX30 will be an affordable model in India.
Addressing the media, Jyoti Malhotra, MD, Volvo Car India, said, “The EX30 is an affordable car globally and in India too we will hold that positioning. It’s too early to tell anyone about the car’s price, but it is a new segment that we address, so we will have more news soon.”

So while Volvo India has been tight-lipped about the pricing of the EX30, expect it to be priced north of ₹40 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Currently, Volvo India’s most affordable EV is XC40 Recharge which is priced between ₹54.95 - 57.90 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Since the EX30 is much smaller than the XC40 Recharge, it will be more affordable too. For perspective, prices for the EX30 in Europe start at €36,000 (roughly ₹32.35 lakh) and in the United States at $35,000 (roughly ₹29.22 lakh).
The EX30 gets two battery pack options – a 51 kWh unit that is limited to certain markets and a 69 kWh unit. It gets a Single Motor variant with 268 bhp and a 337 km range from the 51 kWh battery pack as well as a Single Motor Extended Range variant with 268 bhp and a 476 km range from the 69 kWh battery pack. It also has a Twin Motor Performance variant with 422 bhp and 450 km range from the 69 kWh battery pack.

The Volvo EX30 gets up to 175 kW DC fast charging support. With this, the 51 kWh battery takes 26 minutes to charge from 10 - 80 per cent, while the 61 kWh battery takes 28 minutes.
Once launched in India, the EX30 will rival the BYD Atto 3 (₹33.99 lakh), Hyundai Ioniq 5 (₹46.05 lakh) and the Mini Cooper SE (₹53.50 lakh).
