The Desmo450 MX made its debut last year at the Italian MotoCross competition, and heralded the Borgo-Panigale-based brand into the world of competitive autocross racing.
After the launch of the new-gen Panigale V4 and Panigale V4 S earlier this week, Ducati India now has twelve more scheduled for launch this year. While we do know that the supersport’s naked brethren, the new Streetfighter V4 and V4 S, will also make its way, and so on gradually the new V2 bikes too. But recent reports have come to the surface which claim that the Borgo-Panigale-based brand’s debut motocross enduro bike, the Desmo450 MX has also been considered to bring it to India.
The statement came from Ducati India’s Managing Director, Bipul Chandra himself. This will be an important direction where Ducati India heads forward in the country. Yes, adventure bikes have become quite the flavour of the season, but enduro bikes are of a different kind. They are funky, not as practical as an ADV bike, but reserves the potential to deliver oodles of fun around a dirt track.
The Desmo450 MX created the right noise on its Italian Motocross Championship debut last year, representing Ducati's foray into the world of competitive autocross racing. While we are still one year away from that officially happening in India, Bipul Chandra confirmed that it will arrive in the later stages of 2026. Ahead of that, we will have the KTM 390 Enduro slated for launch this year, and we can’t wait to see how the orange bike will be to ride.
As for Ducati, the debut of the newly launched Panigale V4 and V4 S in India also marks the advent of Ducati’s next generation of V4 bikes. That completely new upswept design is not without purpose, and has a great functional value beyond being just a mere fashion statement. The biggest talking point will, of course, be the new double-sided swingarm and how that has altered the riding behaviour. To learn more details, head to this link here.
