The flagship Hero offering takes on the most popular Royal Enfield motorcycle.
Think of retro motorcycles and the first brand that comes to your mind will most likely be Royal Enfield. The iconic Indian brand has not only managed to resurrect itself from almost going extinct to create an all-new category of affordable premium roadster motorcycles. In this segment, one bike from its stable is numero uno - the Classic 350. Ever since its launch over a decade back, the Classic 350 has smitten Indian bikers and to this day it remains the highest-selling 350 cc and above motorcycle in the country. Given its success, it’s no surprise that every other major motorcycle brand has tried to eat into Royal Enfield’s market share.
The latest attempt is by India’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, Hero MotoCorp with the Mavrick 440. The Mavrick 440 is the flagship Hero motorcycle and is the result of the collaboration between the Indian band and Harley-Davidson. The new Hero motorcycle has a similar approach to the Classic 350 with a long stroke engine that focuses on a torque-heavy nature. But the similarities end here, as the Mavrick takes a more modern and sporty approach in its quest to dominate the roadster segment. So can the new kid on the block compete with the king of the segment and more importantly has Hero delivered a proper flagship motorcycle? Find the answer in our comparison video.
