Jagannath Rath Yatra: Odisha’s most anticipated annual and cultural festival is the Jagannath Rath Yathra. Celebrated in the heritage city of Puri, the festival is dedicated to Lord Jagannath (Lord Krishna) alongside Lord Balaram and Goddess Subhadra. A procession is held from Jagannath Temple to Gundicha Temple. The mainstay of the procession is the decorated tall wooden chariots with massive wheels.
Konark Dance Festival: The festival brings together artists from different forms of classical dances on a single platform. The Konark Dance Festival began in 1986 and it has continued to get global attention for its showcase about varied forms of Indian classical dance.
Chhau Festival: During the month of April, a three-day-long festival is celebrated by Odisha’s Bhuiyan tribes. The tribe’s Chhau dance is the centre of attraction which brings tourists from different parts of the country.
