The Honda BeAT is one of the bestsellers in the Indonesian market, making this update crucial.
Every now and then, OEMs update their product portfolios to keep them fresh and relevant with the times. In Indonesia, Honda has given the same treatment to one of its bestsellers in the country – the BeAT. For 2024, the Honda BeAT lineup continues with the same two variants – BeAT and BeAT Street. The former rides on 14-inch wheels, and the latter on smaller 12-inch wheels with a sportier look, especially with its exposed handlebar design.
Apart from these distinguishing design elements, both the Honda BeAT and BeAT Street have received upgrades to the exterior. On the BeAT, the body panels now look sharper than before, and the new graphic design keeps the look edgy, while on the BeAT Street, Honda has gone for a sportier look. The headlight and taillight have also been updated, and from 2024 onwards, the BeAT will feature all LED lighting.
Speaking of features, Honda has equipped both the BeAT and BeAT Street with a new digital LCD screen that displays the battery charge state indicator, speed, etc. Further down the trim lineup, the scooters also gain a USB charger, parking brake lock feature, side stand engine kill switch, idle stop/start, and a silent starter/generator system. The top-spec BeAT Deluxe is available with the Smart Key, which is also available with the Active 125 in India.
Aside from the above, mechanically, both scooters continue with the same 110cc engine that produces 8.5 bhp and 9.2 Nm. The updated scooters have been launched in Indonesia, starting from IDR 18.43 million (approximately ₹94,500 without Indian customs and taxes).
While Honda has not confirmed plans for the Indian market yet, there is speculation that the company may consider offering a 14-inch wheel-equipped scooter in the Indian 110cc scooter segment, similar to the standard BeAT.
