The KTM 390 Adventure R receives a generational update and comes loaded with features.
A day before its world debut, a picture of the upcoming KTM 390 Adventure R has been leaked online. First thing one will notice, how different the bike looks from its predecessor. Yes, this doesn’t come as a big surprise as even on the test mule one would notice a radical new design language, but the production-spec bike looks absolutely hot. The 2025 KTM 390 Adventure R looks mean and purposeful with its Dakar Rally bike inspired styling. Also, the orange and white colour shades give it an authentic KTM look. The huge windscreen, LED projector headlights and DRLs and the elongated mudguard endow it with an adventurous persona.
The Adventure R is the more off-road oriented variant as we know for a fact, KTM will also launch the 390 Adventure X variant, will be the entry-level offering and is more road-biased with alloy wheels. It gets a single-seat unlike the split seat as seen on the current bike and the fuel tank looks bigger, while the tail section is clean and minimalistic. Powering the new KTM adventure offering will be the same 399 cc, liquid-cooled motor that does duty on the 390 Duke albeit the gearing will be altered to better suit its off-road characteristics. It will sport a 6-speed gearbox with bi-directional quickshifter coming as standard. On the features front, you get a TFT screen, multiple ride modes, traction control, cornering ABS and even cruise control will be available on the upcoming KTM motorcycle.
The new 390 Adventure R runs on an all-new chassis which is suspended on long travel adjustable suspension components on both ends. Braking hardware consists of disc brakes and as mentioned before cornering ABS is standard. The bike runs on off-road rubber but what’s disappointing is that the bike on display was equipped with tube-type spoke wheels and noy tubeless spoke wheels, something which is being offered with the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450. The 2025 KTM 390 Adventure R will make its India debut by late 2024 at the India Bike Week or by early 2025, prices are expected to start at ₹3.30 lakh (ex-showroom).
