2026 Renault Triber Turbo Launched In India, Prices Start At ₹7.84 Lakh

Renault India has introduced the new Triber TCe100, finally bringing a turbocharged petrol engine to the entry-level MPV. The new Renault Triber Turbo is priced from ₹7.84 lakh in India, going up to ₹8.99 lakh (ex-showroom), and will be available in three variants. The Triber is the only subcompact seven-seater on sale, and the turbo-petrol variant addresses its biggest shortcoming, the need for more power. Renault has had to extensively re-engineer the platform to accommodate the turbo engine. The MPV is now underpinned by the new Renault Global Entry Platform (RGEP), which not only allows for a bigger engine, but makes provision for a turbo-CVT, CNG, and an advanced electrical architecture, which should bring more features and tech to the cabin. The structure has been re-inforced for better rigidity. The Triber turbo-CVT and turbo-CNG versions are slated to arrive in 2027.

Power now comes from the 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine tuned for 99 bhp and 180 Nm, paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Renault claims a fuel efficiency of 21 kmpl on the turbo trim. The suspension setup has been completely revised with new springs, shock absorbers, and other components to handle the additional power better. There are anti-roll bars at the front and rear. Braking has improved too with the ABS, traction control, and Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC) re-calibrated to manage the improved performance. 

The three-row cabin remains exactly the same with no changes. The 5+2 configuration allows more room with a spacious second row, while the third row is best reserved for kids, or can be removed to make for 625 litres of boot capacity. The dashboard design remains unchanged and features an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a digital instrument console , wireless charging, cooled glovebox, and plenty of storage spaces. 

Bookings for the new Triber Turbo are now open, and the new variant will be sold alongside the naturally aspirated version. The model does not have a direct rival but the new turbo-petrol variants overlap with select variants of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Toyota Rumion, as well as the Mahindra Bolero.
