Bajaj's diverse showcase at the mobility expo underlined its green ambitions and sustainable developments on the same.
The ongoing Bharat Mobility Expo 2024 is giving us a peak into some very exclusive and never-before-seen motorcycles and cars. Further upping the hype of the event is Bajaj Auto with its full spectrum display of different diverse models that run not only on petrol, but also on several cleaner fuel alternatives like ethanol-blends, CNG, and electric.
Although we have seen most of the models, given the importance and relevance of the events, these displays are also allowing the manufacturer to showcase its R&D prowess, and how it is developing products based on evolving consumer and environmental requirements.
Looks just like the standard Bajaj Dominar 400 that is currently on sale in India. It is even in that glorious Aurora Green shade, and sports touring accessories like a larger windscreen, knuckle guards, etc just like the standard model.
But the main party trick is that it uses a 27.5 per cent ethanol-gasoline blend, instead of the 20 per cent blend that the standard model runs on.
Sticking to the ‘go green’ mantra, Bajaj also unveiled the Pulsar N160 Flex which can run on fuels with higher ethanol blends (upto E85). The Pulsar N160 is already slated for an update and will get an all-new fully digital instrument cluster, and prices for the same will be announced in the coming days.
The new Chetak Premium scooter that Bajaj launched last year in December is on display at the mobility show. The electric scooter has gained a slew of new features, like two ride modes, a new 5-inch TFT instrument cluster with turn-by-turn navigation, tyre pressure monitor, etc, and much more
Wrapping up the models displayed at the show were Bajaj’s two iconic commercial vehicles. The Bajaj RE three-wheeler auto and the Qute four-wheeler. While the former makes up for our daily commutes in metros, the latter is hailed as India’s first Auto taxi. Available in two variants LPG and CNG, the Qute might have a long way to become the CV vehicle for the masses, like the RE, yet its relevance to the segment cannot be ignored.
Speaking about the range of models showcased at the Bharat Mobility Show 2024, Rakesh Sharma, Executive Director at Bajaj Auto Ltd. said, “The displayed range has been carefully selected to demonstrate our commitment to not just conventional fuel-based options but also to newer and cleaner alternative fuels in step with the goals of society.”
