Bajaj continues to list the price of Pulsar NS400Z at ₹1,93,900 (ex-showroom).
Bajaj Auto has had its plate full in the past couple of weeks, upgrading all its 400 cc motorcycles in a phased manner. It started by updating the locally-manufactured Triumph 400 lineup followed by Dominar 400 and then the KTM 390 range. And now, the Chakan-based bikemaker has updated the flagship Pulsar with a downsized engine.
Bajaj has quietly updated the Pulsar NZ400Z with a 350 cc engine that enables it to benefit from a lower 18 percent GST under the new regime. The specifications of the engine have been updated on the company’s official website. However, there has been no change in prices, as Bajaj continues to list the Pulsar NS400Z at ₹1.94 lakh (ex-showroom).
There is no official reason stated by Bajaj yet on the price but the most likely reason for it could be the fact that the company hadn’t increased the price when the new GST regime came into force on 22 September 2025. Refreshing the memory, under the GST 2.0 regime, all motorcycles with an engine larger than 350 cc would have to pay a 40 percent GST whereas those with an engine up to 350 cc would fall in the 18 percent GST category.

Also, Bajaj is unlikely to continue with the original version of the Pulsar NS400Z that was powered by a 373 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, even as an option. Like the Dominar, the flagship Pulsar is now powered by a 349.13 cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 40 bhp at 9,000rpm and a peak torque of 33.2 Nm at 7,500rpm. The same engine has been deployed in the updated Triumph 400 and KTM 390 range of motorcycles.

These figures are lower than those of the outgoing 373cc Pulsar NS400Z, which delivered 42 bhp in its highest Sport mode, along with slightly higher torque. In addition, the new engine reaches its peak output later in the rev range. Power comes in 200 rpm higher, while torque arrives about 1,000 rpm later.
This suggests the 349 cc unit is tuned for more top-end performance, peaky power delivery compared to the broader spread offered by the 373 cc motor it replaces. Bajaj has brought the engine capacity down from 373.27 cc to 349.13 cc by shortening the stroke. It now measures 56.1 mm, compared to 60 mm earlier, while the bore remains unchanged at 89 mm—similar to the setup used in the 350cc Dominar 400.
