Called the WR-V, the Japanese Elevate gets pet-friendly accessories worth ₹40,000.
The Honda Elevate is sold in Japan as the WR-V and is exported to Honda’s home country from India. At a recent fair for humans and pets, Honda Japan showcased a special, pet-friendly edition of the WR-V.
Honda Access, the firm’s accessories arm in Japan, has shown a few accessories for the WR-V under the ‘Honda Dog’ moniker. The accessories include a pet carrier for the front passenger seat that can accommodate two small dogs and also gets a grey door lining cover. This pet carrier costs JPY 21,450 (roughly ₹11,600) while the door lining cover is priced at JPY 6,600 (roughly ₹3,600). The rear bench seat, priced at JPY 25,300 (roughly ₹13,700) gets a pet seat circle that can accommodate small- and medium-sized dogs and gets anchorages to attach leashes to prevent dogs from jumping out.

The WR-V also gets a special grille with black, vertical horizontal slats and chrome surrounds. The display vehicle was finished in red and had ‘Honda Dog’ stickers on the bonnet and front doors. The displayed vehicle also had lots of chrome accents all around. Inside, it also gets dog stickers which are priced at JPY 3,850 (roughly ₹2,100), while the exterior stickers cost JPY 4,400. In Japan, the WR-V gets the same 1.5-litre petrol engine as the Elevate in India. However, it misses out on the 6-speed manual gearbox and is only available with the CVT automatic. The WR-V has a slightly detuned engine as it produces 117 bhp and 142 Nm, while the Elevate produces 119 bhp and 145 Nm.
