Kia Carens Gains New Variants, Powertrain Options

Shortly after refreshing the already refreshed Seltos, Kia India has now updated the Carens MPV. The Carens now gets a manual gearbox option with a 1.5-litre diesel engine as well as multiple new trim levels. 

2024 Kia Carens: What’s New?

Kia India has introduced two new trim levels – Prestige (O), Prestige+ (O) and Premium (O). The Prestige+ (O) is available with the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine as well as the 1.5-litre diesel engine and only gets the respective automatic gearbox options. Features-wise, it gets a single-pane sunroof and LED lights in the interior. 

The Prestige (O) is available with the 1.5-litre petrol and the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine which are mated to the 6-speed manual and 6-speed iMT gearbox options, respectively. It is also available with 6- and 7-seat configurations and gets features like a leatherette-wrapped gear knob, LED lights and keyless go.

The Premium (O) trim of the Carens is available with the 1.5-litre petrol-manual, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol-iMT and 1.5-litre diesel-manual powertrain options. It has features like the keyless entry, 8-inch infotainment touchscreen, steering-mounted controls and more.

Furthermore, Kia has also updated the existing trims. The X Line gets features like a dashcam, auto up/down for all windows, and 7-seat configuration. The Luxury trim now gets a sunroof and LED interior lights, while the Prestige trim now gets LED DRLs and automatic climate control. Kia is also offering the entire Carens range (except the X Line) with the new Pewter Olive colour option that debuted on the Seltos facelift.

Prices for the updated Carens start at ₹10.52 lakh and go up to ₹19.22 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Here’s the full price list for the updated Carens:
