Receives small design tweaks to make it more cost-friendly
Bajaj has been spotted testing a rather different version of the Freedom 125 CNG than what it had originally launched. This could be the affordable no-frills version of the world's first CNG-powered production motorcycle. The test mule was seen with heavy camouflage, indicating significant design changes.
The spy images reveal a host of small changes, including more conventional fork sleeve protectors, a single-colour front fender, and red-coloured body panels. These are not available in the current Freedom CG-04. The headlamp, which misses its bracing here, appears to be a conventional halogen unit, instead of an LED, to save costs. Other notable changes include a silver grab handle and chrome exhaust shield.

Bajaj will likely make use of the simple dash from the lower variants of the current Freedom 125 NG04. It is a semi-digital cluster with a lot of tell-tale lights, a small digital inset, limited data and no Bluetooth connectivity. Hopefully, the USB charging socket remains, though.

Mechanically we expect the bike to remain the same in terms of engine and performance. The engine on this is a bi-fuel engine of 125cc producing 9.5 bhp and 9.7 Nm. The engine is paired with a 5-speed gearbox and can run on both CNG and petrol, with a 2 kg CNG tank and a 2-litre petrol tank, respectively. A simple switch allows the rider to toggle between modes.
The Bajaj Freedom CNG was launched just a month ago and has already generated significant interest in the two-wheeler market. With bookings and deliveries commenced in Maharashtra, Gujarat and Delhi, Bajaj has announced the expansion of availability to 77 cities across India starting August 15. The more affordable variant is likely to further boost sales and appeal to a wider audience
