The new Amaze borrows design cues from the Honda Elevate and Honda City and is the only subcompact sedan to get ADAS.
Honda Car India has launched the third-gen Honda Amaze in India at ₹8 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The new subcompact sedan comes with design cues borrowed from its stablemates and is the first car in the segment to get ADAS. It comes in three trims- V, VX and ZX.
The new Amaze gets a large grille, as also seen on the Elevate. Above the grille is a thick chrome bar that has now become the signature of all Honda's in India. It also gets LED headlamps and DRLs. In profile, it comes with 15-inch alloy wheels with a dual-tone finish. While the front looks similar to the Elevate, the rear looks akin to the City. It has the same U-shaped LED taillamps as the compact sedan from Honda.
Prices (ex-showroom, India) | V | VX | ZX |
---|---|---|---|
MT | ₹8 lakh | ₹9.10 lakh | ₹9.70 lakh |
CVT | ₹9.20 lakh | ₹10 lakh | ₹10.90 lakh |
Inside, the dashboard shares its design with the Elevate, lending it a premium feeling. It gets an 8-inch floating infotainment touchscreen as well as a mesh-like pattern between the AC vents on the passenger side. The rear seat passengers also get adjustable AC vents at the back of the centre console.
In terms of safety, the Amaze gets 6 airbags, electronic stability control, ABS with EBD, three-point seatbelts with reminders for all seats, and more.
Under the hood, the Amaze gets the same 1.2-litre petrol engine, making 88.5 bhp and 110 NM of peak torque. Power is sent to the front wheels via either a 5-speed manual or a CVT automatic transmission.
The Amaze rivals the likes of the new Maruti Suzuki Dzire (₹6.79 - 10.14 lakh), Hyundai Aura (₹6.47 - 9.05 lakh) and Tata Tigor (₹6 - 9.40 lakh). It’s the only subcompact sedan to not get a CNG kit from the factory.
