Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India recorded a 12% increase in total sales for May 2026, reaching 5,18,777 units. Domestic sales grew by 10% to 4.59 lakh units, while exports registered a 24% growth.

Passenger car sales, including mini, compact and mid-size categories, surged 42.3 per cent to 97,830 units.

Toyota recorded a 7% rise in total sales for May 2026, reaching 33,128 units. The company also surpassed the 3 lakh mark for strong hybrid vehicle sales in the Indian market.

Mahindra said total vehicle sales, including exports, reached 99,636 units for the month, marking a 20 per cent year-on-year increase.

The increase has been driven by lean dealer inventories, pre-buying ahead of announced price increases, and a favourable base from the prior year.

The affected car models were manufactured between 12 July 2024 and 18 August 2025.
