The Punch facelift is expected to have a similar design to the newly launched Punch.ev.

Tata Motors is gearing up to launch the facelifted version of the Punch. The micro SUV’s facelift has been spotted testing for the first time and spy shots show that it will have a design similar to the newly launched Punch.ev. Expect the Punch facelift to have a similar features list to the Punch.ev.

The Punch facelift is expected to be launched towards the end of 2024, possibly near the upcoming festive season. Tata Motors launched the Punch in India in 2021 and its electric version was launched in India in January 2024.

The spy shots of the Punch facelift show it in heavy camouflage, but despite that, the updated design is very evident. It will get a new grille, LED DRLs and headlamps, similar to the Punch.ev. The Punch facelift’s profile is not expected to change much, save for a new design for the alloy wheels. Even the taillamps are expected to carry over from the outgoing Punch but expect the rear bumper to get slightly redesigned.

The interior of the Punch facelift is barely visible in the spy shots, but the test mule can be seen with the new 10.25-inch touchscreen and Tata Motors’ new two-spoke steering wheel. However, expect the Punch facelift to share a lot of its features with the Punch.ev. It is expected to get features like a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, ventilated front seats, sunroof, 360-degree camera and more. The Punch facelift could also get six airbags, while the outgoing model only has two.

Powertrain-wise, the Punch facelift is expected to continue with the existing 1.2-litre petrol engine producing 87 bhp and 115 Nm mated to a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT. It is also likely to continue to get a factory-fitted CNG kit which produces 72 bhp and 103 Nm in CNG mode. As Tata Motors has recently introduced the AMT gearbox with the Tiago and Tigor CNG, the Punch CNG could also get the AMT gearbox with the facelift.

Tata

Expect the Punch facelift to have a slight bump in price compared to the outgoing model. The Punch is currently priced between ₹6.13 - 10.20 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Once launched, the Punch facelift will rival the Hyundai Exter, Citroën C3 and the Maruti Suzuki Ignis.
