The new Amaze has a fuel efficiency of 18.65 kmpl (MT) and 19.46 kmpl (AT).
Honda Cars India has just launched the third-gen Amaze in India at ₹8 - 10.90 lakh (ex-showroom, India). During the launch, Honda India announced the fuel efficiency figures of the new generation of its subcompact sedan.
The new Amaze is still powered by the same 1.2-litre petrol engine as before, mated to either a 5-speed manual or a CVT automatic transmission. The manual powertrain has a fuel efficiency of 18.65 kmpl, while the automatic powertrain returns 19.46 kmpl. Compared to the previous generation, the fuel efficiency of the manual has increased by 0.05 kmpl, and the automatic’s fuel efficiency has increased by 1.16 kmpl.
In the subcompact sedan segment, the Amaze is the only car that doesn’t get a factory-fitted CNG kit. However, it is also the only subcompact sedan that gets a continuously variable transmission (CVT). All other models – Hyundai Aura, Maruti Suzuki Dzire and Tata Tigor – get an automated manual transmission (AMT).
As mentioned earlier, the new Amaze is priced between ₹8 - ₹10.90 lakh (ex-showroom, India). It is the most expensive subcompact sedan in India compared to its rivals - Dzire (₹6.79 - 10.14 lakh), Tigor (₹6 - 9.40 lakh) and Aura (₹6.47 - 9.05 lakh).
