It is already the most affordable Triumph motorcycle in India.
Triumph has reduced the asking price of the Speed T4 by ₹18,000, bringing its ex-showroom price down to ₹1.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The offer remains for a limited period only, though.
Triumph launched the Speed T4 last year as a more city-oriented alternative to the Speed 400. It featured the same liquid-cooled, 398 cc single-cylinder engine but was tuned to deliver 30.6 bhp and 36 Nm, as against the Speed 400 which produces 39.5 bhp and 37.5 Nm. Notably, riders could access 85 per cent of the maximum torque from as low as 2,500 rpm, courtesy its heavy crank. This ensured that the bike feels ideal when riding in the urban jungle with minimal gear changes. Here’s how it fares in the real world.
The latest price cut might make the Triumph Speed T4 one of the most affordable roadsters in the market. It still continues to face competition from Royal Enfield, whose Hunter 350 has become a resounding success. In just about two and a half years, RE has already sold more than 5 lakh Hunters in the country.
