Hyundai India is likely to launch the i20 facelift around the upcoming festive season.
Hyundai Motor Company has teased the i20 facelift for the first time. The updated Hyundai i20 should arrive in India around the upcoming festive season. The facelifted i20 was first showcased in the European market earlier this year. It comes with some minor tweaks to the design language, prime among which is the Venue-like front fascia.
At the front, the Hyundai logo has moved up from the front grille to the bonnet, while the grille and bumper have been redesigned. Then there’s the redesigned alloy wheels and tweaked tail lamps along with slightly reworked rear bumper. On the inside, the i20 facelift will most likely get minor changes to the upholstery and colour scheme.
However, there is a strong chance that Hyundai India will add features like ventilated seats, dashcam, digital instrument cluster and 360 degree camera to the i20’s feature list. Owing to this, expect the updated i20 to command a slight premium over the current-generation model. Once it does arrive in India, the Hyundai i20 facelift will square off against the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Toyota Glanza and Tata Altroz.
On the powertrain front, the i20 facelift is expected to carry over the same engines. This includes a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine which churns out 82 bhp and 114 Nm of torque. This engine will come with either a 5-speed manual or CVT transmission. The 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine which produces 118 bhp and 172 Nm of torque will get a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic or a 6-speed iMT.
