2024 couldn’t end on a better note, especially for bike enthusiasts who prefer off-road riding. After officially unveiling the new 2025 KTM 390 Adventure S and 390 Enduro R earlier this month in Goa at the India Bike Week, both can now be booked for a nominal amount of just ₹5,000. While KTM India has yet to reveal their official ex-showroom price, we suggest holding on to your enthusiasm and wait it out. Given the number of updates both bikes will debut with, they are expected to command quite the premium price tag.
Starting with the new KTM 390 Adventure S — not only does it look more rugged and purposeful than before, courtesy of its long tower design. It also packs the same features that we appreciated in the third-gen KTM 390 Duke, and much more. Like cruise control for example. This will make the KTM 390 Adventure S the first and the only bike in the sub-400 cc ADV segment to be available with these features.
The KTM 390 Enduro R is a proper, off-road-focused enduro bike. Although it is based on the same platform as the 390 Adventure S, it distinguishes itself with an athletic body design, with minimal panels — which should help its case with a lighter kerb weight. Beyond that, the headlight cowl is also compact here, plus that flat straight seat that extends from the tank to the tail light, and those knobby tyres, that come standard here – leave little to the imagination of the kind of hooliganism one can easily indulge with the bike in off-road conditions.
Mechanically, both are powered by the same 399 cc, single-cylinder, DOHC engine that we have already experienced in the 390 Duke. In the naked sport, this mill produces 42.9 bhp and 39 Nm, all of which are sent to the rear wheel via a 6-speed gearbox. KTM has retained the same setup in the ADV and enduro bikes as well, however, the final drive is expected to differ to suit the bike’s characteristics.
So, all in all, with all these substantial upgrades mentioned above, we expect the KTM 390 Adventure S might be priced from ₹3.50 lakh onwards. While the KTM 390 Enduro R might be slightly affordable but still be priced from ₹3 lakh onwards (both ex-showroom prices). 2025 couldn’t come sooner.
