Maruti Suzuki Crosses 10 Lakh Sales in FY 2026-27; 2,19,220 Total Units Sold in August 2026

Maruti Suzuki has reported total sales of 2,19,220 units including exports and domestic sales of all its passenger and light commercial vehicle offerings in August 2026. This represents a 21.3 percent increase over the 1,80,683 units sold in the same month last year. Of these, 1,80,078 were domestic sales, 33,844 units were exported, and a further 5,298 units are reported as “Sales to other OEM”.

Domestic sales increased by 34.33 percent YoY over the 1,34,050 units sold in August last year, raising the total average. Exports dropped marginally by 7.37 percent, compared to 36,538 units, and the “Sales to other OEM” category dropped significantly from 10,095 units in the same period. This comes after the company announced record sales in July 2026 and April 2026.

Maruti Suzuki offers a breakup of sales figures by vehicle category. Entry hatchbacks, ie the Alto and S-Presso together, sold 8,799 units, up from 6,853 last year. Other hatchbacks, the Baleno, Celerio, Ignis, Swift, and WagonR along with the Ciaz and Dzire sedans accounted for 77,166 units, up from 59,597. The Dzire was also India's top-selling car in FY 2025-26.

The company’s SUVs and MPVs — Brezza, Ertiga, e Vitara, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Invicto, Jimny, Victoris, and XL6 — contributed 79,045 to the total, compared to 54,043 in August 2025. The Eeco van also grew YoY to 11,961 units from 10,785. Finally, the Super Carry light commercial truck sold 3,107 units, up from 2,772.

In addition, Maruti Suzuki has confirmed that it has exceeded 10,00,000 sales since the beginning of the current financial year. Cumulative domestic and export sales across categories amount to 1,143,365 units, a 28.6 percent increase over the 8,89,070 sales achieved in the year-ago period. Total domestic sales alone are comfortably on track to exceed the 10,00,000 threshold next month, currently standing at 9,54,729 units.
