Automakers across China are expanding their HEV programs, with some targeting fuel consumption near 2–3 litre per 100 km under certain conditions.

Hyundai has revealed the Ioniq 3, an electric compact car built on the E-GMP platform.

Both firms have setup dedicated cross-functional teams to speed up product development and work through the regulatory approvals.

The 350 cc engine powered KTM 390 Duke will be an India-specific model and will be sold alongside the KTM 390 Duke R (399 cc engine variant).

The urgency is driven in part by volatile global oil prices.
