Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has teased its latest upcoming vehicle, the Taisor. The upcoming subcompact SUV from Toyota is based on the Maruti Suzuki Fronx and will make its global debut on April 3. Since it is an SUV, TKM could call it the Urban Cruiser Taisor or it could simply be called the Taisor. This is the sixth model shared between Maruti Suzuki and Toyota to date.
According to the teaser shared by TKM, the Taisor will get different LED DRLs compared to the Fronx. While the Fronx has three-block LED DRLs, a signature of its Nexa models, the Taisor gets two horizontal lines instead. Furthemore, the Taisor also gets a different grille, which seems to have a design similar to the Rumion MPV. The grille also has a thick slat on the top with a chrome strip and the Toyota logo.

At the back, the Taisor’s design will be more-or-less similar to the Fronx but expect it to get different lighting elements and will continue to get a full-width LED light bar. While the alloy wheels of the Taisor are not visible in the teaser, it is expected to get a different design. Apart from this, not much is expected to change in profile.
In terms of features, expect the Taisor to have a similar features list to the Maruti Suzuki Fronx. It is likely to get a 9-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, six airbags, a 360-degree camera, an Arkamys-tuned sound system, and more.
Under the hood, the Taisor will likely get the same powertrain options as the Fronx. Expect it to get the 88 bhp, 113Nm, 1.2-litre petrol engine and the 98 bhp, 148 Nm, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine. It could also get the factory-fitted CNG kit, like the Fronx. Gearbox options are likely to include a 5-speed manual, 5-speed AMT and a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
Expect the Taisor to be priced at a slight premium compared to the Fronx. The latter retails between ₹7.51 - 12.87 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The Taisor could be priced at a premium of ₹10,000 - 40,000 over the Fronx, depending on the variant.
