Chitrakote Falls: The Chitrakote Falls is popularly referred to as the mini-Niagara Falls of the country. Located about 50kms from Jagdalpur, the falls descents from nearly 100ft. You can visit the place during the monsoon season when the waterfall is in its full glory.
Barnawapara Wildlife Sanctuary: Chhattisgarh also caters to the wildlife enthusiasts. You can visit the Barnawapara Wildlife Sanctuary, which is located about 100kms from Raipur. The landscape of the wildlife sanctuary mostly consists of flat terrain and small and high hillocks. You can get a glimpse of the Indian bison, called the gaur, nilgai, sambhar, chital and wild boars.
Bhoramdeo Temple: It is believed that the Bhoramdeo Temple was built between the 7th and 11th century by the Nag dynasty. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the temple is built in the Nagar style of architecture. Since it bears the resemblance of the famous Konark Sun Temple in Madhya Pradesh, it is also referred to as the Khajuraho of Chhattisgarh.
Kailash and Kutumsar Caves: Located closer to the Tirathgarh Falls, the caves are amongst the dense forests. The Kailash and Kutumsar Caves are ranked as the second-longest natural caves in the world. The caves run deeper and there is a limit beyond which you are not allowed further due to lack of oxygen. Situated on a small hill about 40kms from Jagdalpur, the caves were discovered as recently as 1993.
Maitri Bagh: Maitri Bagh is situated in the city of Bhilai and consists of a zoo and a garden. One can relax in the gardens or you can visit the zoo which has an interesting list of wildlife. Maitri Bagh is the result of the friendship between India and Russia and was established in 1972 as a symbol of their friendship.
